CHESS is looking for students who are currently taking classes at our academy (or who will be in the Spring 2018 semester) to submit their very best examples of writing to be judged by our Literature Department. We are looking for works in the following categories: poetry, short stories and biographies. We will accept works from all grade levels, K - 12, and works will be judged accordingly. Poetry should be no more than 30 lines long. Short stories should be no more than 600 words. Biographies should be no more than 400 words. You may submit entries that are/were class assignments, if you wish. You may submit up to two entries. Please submit your entry typed & double spaced and put your name and grade level on each entry. The winner in each grade level will receive a prize and have their work published in our next newsletter (Spring 2018) - so get your creative juices flowing!! Please email your work(s) to the CHESS office no later than Wednesday, January 10, 2018. Put “Writing Contest” in the subject line. Please contact the CHESS office with any questions.
